Students evaluation is based on the development and presentation of a report on the energy and acoustic performance optimization of a building (developed in teams of 2-3 students). The presentation should account for 60% of the finalmark and the report 40%.

- National and international context regarding buildings related energy demand and CO2 emissions;

- Regulation for energy performance of buildings;

- Building Energy Certification System;

- Heat transfer through conduction, convection and radiation;

- Thermal Comfort Index, methods for thermal comfort assessment;

- Thermal performance of facades;

- Thermal bridge effect and surface condensation.

- Heat gains;

- Thermal performance of glass and frames;

- Software: Building energy performance tool - EnergyPlus.
