Industrial Engineering and Management Project

Objectives

students should achieve the following learning objectives:

To utilize QFD (quality function deployment) as a way to articulate customer requirements and technical requirements, as regards the product / service to be developed

To search and analyze primary and secondary data in order to estimate a potential market

To define the required materials and resources

To propose a system to measure and control the performance of the stock management activity, taking into account the material requirements

To dimension the required productive capacity taking into account the size of the potential market

To conceive a simplified production model, proposing productivity metrics

To propose a methodology for project management, using financial evaluation methods to support decision making

Teaching method

The Curricular Unit has very specific characteristics, aiming the integration of acquired knowledge and its utilization in situations close to reality. Thus, it will be ensured by a wide group of teachers from different areas, focusing on theoretical-practical classes with a strong interactive component with students.

The approaches to be developed will have a high practical focus, encouraging the work of guidance and supervision taking into account the different stages of the work to be developed.

Evaluation method

The evaluation will focus on the final work presented by the students, which will be organized into groups of two or three elements.
