Teaching method
1.The teaching method is based on a continuous student activity during the semester.
2.For the understanding of concepts and laws of Physics, a mixed approach, with both theory and experiment is followed .
3. In laboratory sessions, besides the demonstration and verification of Physics laws, emphasis is given to metrology.
Continuous involvement of the students (beyond lectures e laboratory sessions) through packages of exercises and laboratory guidelines available on Clip.
Evaluation method
Classes and Assessment Mode
1. Students have theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical components, whose operation is described in the following articles. The relevant classifications are expressed on a scale of 0 to 20 values and rounded to the nearest integer.
2. Classes are face-to-face and are divided into theoretical (T), theoretical-practical (TP) and practical (P). Theoretical and theoretical-practical classes will start on the 1st day of classes foreseen in the school calendar. The practical classes will start one week later, according to the assigned times.
Theoretical Component (CT)
1. The classification of the theoretical component (CT) is the arithmetic mean, rounded to one decimal place, of the classifications obtained in 2 tests (the classification of each test is rounded to one decimal place); in the case of completion by exam, your classification is rounded to the nearest unit.
2. Students who obtain a CT rating equal to or greater than 10 (9.5) pass the theoretical component.
Tests and Exam
1. Tests and exams are graded on a scale of zero to twenty.
2. Each test will cover essentially all the material taught in classes up to the theoretical class prior to the test. There is no minimum grade required on each of the tests.
3. Although the evaluation in the tests is not cumulative, and due to the nature of the subjects covered in this Curricular Unit, it is not excluded that an element of evaluation uses knowledge related to the subject evaluated in previous element(s). Tests and exams take place on dates announced in due course on this CLIP platform.
4. All students must be enrolled in the theoretical shift, including repeaters. Students can only have with them during the assessment test:
1. Pen/ballpoint;
2. Identification document with photograph;
3. Non-graphical and non-programmable calculating machine;
4. During the tests, the use of electronic devices, such as computers and cell phones, tablets, etc., is not allowed.
5. It is not allowed to unclip the pages of the notebooks with the statements and resolutions made by the students in the test.
6. The test will be canceled if the two previous points are not satisfied, or if the students commit any fraud in an evaluation test (Test or Exam)
Practical Component (PC) and Frequency
1. In the 1st practical class (AP) of each shift, the assessment rules for this component will be presented in detail;
2. Registrations for the shifts are confirmed in person;
3. Established the working groups.
4. Students who do not comply with paragraph 2 will have their enrollment in the AP shift canceled at CLIP.
5. Within the limit of available places, shift changes may be accepted during the first week of AP classes. To this end, students should contact the teachers of the practical shifts involved, by email.
6. In the AP classes, 4 laboratory assignments will be carried out, the schedule of which will be announced in the classes of each shift.
7. In these laboratory classes, students will write a report on each work.
8. The component classification (CP) is given by the arithmetic mean of the scores of the 4 reports.
9. Absence in one of these evaluation parcels implies a classification equal to zero in that parcel.
10. Students who obtain a CP rating equal to or greater than 10 obtain practical approval, provided they have attended 2/3 of the total AP.
11. Students who satisfy the previous point obtain attendance at the curricular unit.
12. Attendance obtained in previous academic years is valid for the current academic year; consequently, students under these conditions do not enrol in the practical shifts, and are admitted to all tests and the exam.
Final Classification of Students
Students who have simultaneously passed the CP and CT components pass the curricular unit, with the final classification (CF) being given by:
CF = CT×0.7 + CP×0.3
Rating Improvement
Students wishing to improve their grades must comply with the legal formalities for enrollment in academic services for this purpose.
Student-workers
Students are considered to have student worker status (TE) if they appear as such in the CLIP guidelines and must, as soon as possible, communicate their status to the teacher in charge of the subject.
Teaching assistance out of class hours
1. The teaching hours are available in the Clip item after the class times are known.
2. Even so, if students need to contact the teachers via electronic message (email) they must indicate in the “Subject” the following information: “Physics - Shift – Name – Student Number – Subject”.
3. Electronic messages with questions whose answers are listed in the previous items or on the curricular unit''s page in CLIP will not be answered.
