Attendance criteria: attendance at a minimum of 2/3 of classes.
Assessment elements and weights in the final assessment:
- Summaries of expository classes - written by each student in the last 15 minutes of these classes. They must mention the topics covered in classes and the most relevant aspects of the subjects covered for the student. 2 or 3 questions will be asked, the answers to which may be included in the summary or given separately. 25% of the final assessment (individual assessment).
- Analysis of scientific publications and writing the respective summary in class. 2 classes will be used to analyze 2 different publications. Publications are provided in class without a summary and 2/3 questions will be asked, the answer to which must be included in the summary. 20% of the final assessment (individual assessment).
- Planning an experiment based on 2 articles that are provided. The experiment aims to determine the concentration of glucose in a solution. Students must prepare a protocol at home (they can do it in a group) on which, during the assessment carried out in class, they base themselves on answering the questions asked (individual response). 25% of the final assessment (individual assessment, only the answers to the questions asked are assessed).
- Presentation of articles. Oral presentation of research (2 scientific articles) on a given biomedical application of nanostructures. The presentation is prepared at home in a group and presented in class in a group on a scheduled date at the end of the semester. 30% of the final assessment (group assessment).
