Master Dissertation in Geological Engineering

Objectives

The aim of this course is the development of experimental work and writing of the Master dissertation in Geological Engineering. The Dissertation enables students to apply in an integrated manner some of the acquired skills, that may be supplemented by self-study, and whose result is released with the completion of a scientific and technological report. This includes developing the capacity to conduct research activity, both supervised by the advisor and in autonomy, applying appropriate research methodologies, and the ability to develop work with a significant degree of originality. The publication of results at conferences and in quality technical journals is strongly encouraged as is a standard practice in the Masters in Geological Engineering from FCT NOVA.

• Writing of the thesis proposal and document review by the supervisor.
• Conclusion of the literature collation and elaboration of the state of the art
