Aeronautical Production and Maintenance

Objectives

At the end of this subject, the student will have acquired the knowledge, skills and competences that will enable them to:
- Know the main manufacturing processes (moulding, deformation, subtractive and additive) used in the aerospace industry;
- Understand the relationship between manufacturing processes and their parameters, the properties of the processed materials and the typical defects that can occur;
- Know the main Non-Destructive Testing methods and their applicability to the aerospace industry;
- Understand the various maintenance philosophies and approaches;
- Know the nomenclature and standardisation applicable to aircraft maintenance;
- Understand the fundamental concepts of reliability and their application to aircraft preventive maintenance;
- Be able to implement and apply fault diagnosis and correction techniques.

Teaching method

Theoretical-practical and laboratory classes.

Evaluation method

1 Test (or Exam) (T/E) + Group work (TG) + Individual report (R)

Test (or Exam): minimum mark 8.5val.

Individual report: should reflect on the seminars organised throughout the semester as part of the subject.

Group work: work in groups of 3 students on a topic to be defined.

Attendance at the subject: satisfied with the delivery of Group work + Individual report.

NF = 30% T + 40% TG + 30% R
or
NF = 30% E + 40% TG + 30% R
