Mediation - Techniques and Procedures

Objectives

The goal of this subject is to explore the mediation procedure and the techniques used by mediators. It follows a hands-on approach, aiming at preparing the students for real mediations through roleplaying.

Teaching method

Theoretical classes will be combined with hands-on exercises.

Roleplays will take place in about half of the classes.

Evaluation method

 

  • Assignments during the semester (70%):

    o Participation in classes (including feedback) and mediation roleplays as a party and/or mediator

    o Opening statement

    o Creation of cases for mediation roleplay

  • Final assignment (30%)

  • There is no final exam.
