Master in Tropical Health
Education objectives
The Master Course in Tropical Health Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (IHMT) presents restructured as to what has been offered in previous years. This edition included were new themes that allow contribute to achieving the objectives of sustainable development, particularly the goal number three, "Quality of Health." The course curriculum includes curricular units of the scientific areas of Tropical Medicine (base component), Life Sciences, Behavioral Sciences and Research Methodologies. Aims to train professionals with solid knowledge in health and tropical medicine, complementing clinical knowledge acquired previously.

Schedule
Wednesday and Friday, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Saturday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Tutorial classes on Thursdays, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays, from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Teaching language
Mostly in Portuguese. Some CU may be taught in English
Degree pre-requisites
Duration: 2 years: 4 academic semesters.
Total credits: 120 ECTS for the achieve of the master degree (60 in curricular units + 60 in the preparation of the dissertation).

Evaluation rules

Each curricular unit (CU) is evaluated according to the criteria established by the Teacher in charge, which are available in the section "Evaluation method" in the "General characterization" tab of each CU.
The academic degree of the Doctorateis given a final classification in the range of 10-20 of the entire numerical scale from 0 to 20, as well as its equivalent in the European scale of comparability of classifications. The calculation of the final classification is obtained by weighted arithmetic average by the number of credits.
