Architectures for Information Systems
Objectives
The main objective of UC is to analyze architectures of Information Systems, separating the technological aspects from the organizational and management aspects.
Additionally, muilti, trans and interdisciplinary concerns will be addressed since the study of Information Systems Architectures, as well as their development, involves multiple perspectives and knowledge that include several fields of knowledge.
At the end of this unit the student should be able to:
- Explain the critical success factors in Information Systems Planning
- Formulate an information systems architecture strategy.
- Develop an architecture of processes, information and information systems
- Describe and explain an Information Systems Architectures and Technologies project

Teaching method
The curricular unit is based on theoretical and practical lessons. A variety of instructional strategies will be applied, including exposure and demonstration with step-by-step examples (with and without software), questions and answers.
The sessions include presentation of concepts and methodologies, solving examples, discussion and interpretation of results. The practical component is geared towards solving real problems, including discussion and interpretation of results.
