Big Data Analytics for Business
Objectives
This course aims to help business leaders and managers who are involved in improving the use of big data analytics (BDA) at their companies or who need to better understand what BDA is and how it can be leverage to gain true business advantage. Based on a practical framework with supporting methodology and hands-on exercises for business-driven BDA strategy formulation, this course helps to identify where and how big data can help business managers transform their business.

Mixed approach
- Theoretical sessions presented by the Professor
- Practical works and presentations made by the students
- Critical and constructive discussion of these presentations.
Evaluation method
The evaluation is made with several components which give priority to a continuous engagement and active participation. Some of this evaluation pretends to grade teamwork through the assignments and other does grade individual performance. The criteria and rates to contribute to the final grade are:
- BDA Case and BDA Maturity Quiz: 20%[1]
- Paper analysis: 20 %
- Participation: 10%
- Exam: 50%[2]
If the student fails the first season, he can apply to the 2nd season
- BDA Case, BDA Maturity Quiz and Paper analysis: 50%
- Exam: 50%2
[1] Both practical works are required but only the best grade counts for evaluation.
[2] A minimum grade of 9.5 points is required to complete the course
