Organizations Behavior

Objectives

In addition to technical skills, information systems professionals must understand the organizational context, with its several dimensions and implications, in order to develop interpersonal skills and make better decisions. This course offers an introduction to topics in Organizational Behavior. This is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations, in employment-related situations, for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization's effectiveness. Organizational Behavior is, therefore, the study of what people do in an organization and the way their behavior affects the organization's performance, building on contributions from a number of behavioral disciplines, including psychology, social psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
