Applied Research Methods

Objectives

The course aims to introduce and discuss the key principles of applied research in management. The ability to develop, apply, and interpret a high-quality research design is a key pillar of evidence-based management. In this course we will discuss topics related to research design, data collection methods, and data analysis and apply them to entrepreneurial and innovation-focused projects developed by the students.

Evaluation method

1. Exam: 30% There will be a written exam, with questions focusing on the topics discussed in classes. Space will be limited.

2. Individual Report: 40% Students are required to deliver an individual, written, report developing the research design for an entrepreneurial / innovation-driven project.

3. Peer feedback: 20% Each student will be assessed in terms of quality/depth of the feedback provided during class perr-to-peer discussions.

4. Weekly deliverables: 10% Each student will have to submit building blocks of their research project on a weekly basis.
