Politics for Policy
Objectives
Politics For Policy builds on a large and diverse body of academic work from the disciplines of Political Science and Economics to address issues of relevance to the field of Public Policy, including concepts and methods, topics and applications. Politics For Policy requires a basic knowledge of economics and political science concepts, and it aims at providing an organized overview of the interpret specific models in a way useful to policy analysis.

Teaching method
Lectures are based on presentation and discussion of methodologies and topics applied to public policy, taking advantage of a diversified set of media including text, videos, case studies and a group exercise. Class participation is strongly encouraged, and critical thinking encouraged. Previous reading of required materials and an assessment of recommended materials is highly advised, and likely to be reflected in the final exam.
Evaluation method
The final grade is based on the group exercise, a final exam, and class participation. The weights of the different elements are:
- Mandatory final exam, 35 %
- Group presentation, 55 %
- Class participation, 10 %
