Internship
Objectives
During the internship, students must:
- Know generally the facilities of the institution;
- Follow the supervisor, watching him in his daily activities;
- Know the process of joint decision-making on operational and strategic issues;
- Colaborate in decision making process by the supervisor;
- Run, under the supervision of the supervisor, tasks that mobilize the skills provided during CEAH;
- Identify practical problems of interest to the institution and the student, in conjunction with the internship advisor, for further selection of the problem to be the object of fieldwork;
- Prepare the protocol of the field work, seeking to ensure the necessary conditions for its feasibility within the deadline provided for in the course plan.

Teaching method
The internship will take place under the guidance of a graduated in Hospital Admin. or a professional of recognized merit.
The evaluation has three components: evaluation of the training supervisor (ETS) (35%); descriptive report assessment (DRA) (15%) and case protocol (CP) (50%). Students must succeed in every component.
ETS is based on its assessment of attendance, personal relationships, sense of responsibility and capacity of decision making. In DRA (3 pages), the student must describe and critically analyze the internship´s content, the main lessons learned and the more relevant experiences, submitted by the last day of the exam season. In the CP (10 to 20 pages), the student must present a detailed protocol based on a practical problem of the institution that will be developed during fieldwork. The CP must contain: description of the problem; literature review; objectives of fieldwork; detailed methodology; Expected results. The CP shall be delivered on a date to be indicated.

Subject matter
The internship will hold for two months, taking place between October and November of the concerning academic year. The program to accomplish during the internship includes a plan defined by the internship advisor at the institution where the internship occurs (taking place on days agreed between the supervisor and the student). During the first week of internship, students should submit to the Secretary of CEAH the internship time plan, approved by the supervisor. The planning should comprehend most areas of the institution's management, allowing the student to achieve the objectives set for the internship.
