Objectives

At the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Describe the expected aims, benefits and risks of hospital performance evaluation;
2. Relate indicators to the dimensions of performance evaluation and classify them by type of indicator;
3. Describe performance evaluation models used at national and international level;
4. Compare strategies for improving performance;
5. Select the methodologies for assessing and improving performance that are appropriate to a given situation.

Teaching method

The teaching methodologies include classes in which the lecturer presents the content and encourages discussion, as well as classes in which the students carry out work under the supervision of the lecturer, complemented by synchronous or asynchronous activities. Assessment is based on three elements: a written test (60%), group work on the analysis of a practical case (30%) and participation (10%).
