Objectives
At this unit, students must:
1) Characterize the importance of information and Information Systems in health
2) Understand the importance of information governance (IG) in health organisations
3) To learn concepts of exploring information and decision making
4) Know the state of the art of digital health and understand its concepts
5) Know the clinical and the management support information systems of health organisations and to know how to apply to the hospital operations process
6) Apply the principles of information governance
7) Apply digital health tools to their various components
8) Valuing the critical dimensions of health information management in health organisations

Teaching method
The methodologies to be used will be the theoretical-oral presentation, theoretical-practical, practical exercises, analysis and discussion of case. Viewing of online videos with e-learning practices and a seminar. Hospital visits. Practice of business intelligence tools.
The use of external speakers with expertise in certain areas will be used.
The assessment is based on:
- one individual test (55%)
- attendance (5%) whenever in person.
- Participation evaluated through debates in moodle, delivery of reports (30%)
- The evaluation can be complemented by e-learning courses proposed at the beginning of the Unit (10%)
