Objectives

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit
At the end of this Curricular Unit, students should be able to:
1. Understand the concept of "Health" and its related dimensions - The concept of "One
Health"
2. Describe the organization of the National Health System, levels of actuation and different
stakeholders
3. Identify the specific characteristics of medical practice and understand the role of doctors
in todays society. The Board, the Unions, and the Scientific Societies
4. Justify the importance of doctor-patient relationship
5. Identify the importance of teamwork - multidisciplinary team and intersectoral
cooperation
6. Demonstrate the ability to discuss the major goals of medicine, the different components
of promotion / prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation
7. Demonstrate the skills necessary for organization, systematization, and transmission of
knowledge in medicine.
8. Understand the role of the citizens in promoting and keeping health, in disease
management and participating in different decision models - Civil society and Health

Teaching method

Teaching is conducted in b-learning.
Theoretical content will be available through asynchronous e-learning process with discussion fora.
Each class group will provide a written assay on a specific theoretical theme (including a proposal
of assessment questions).
There will be a part of this unit where students will be present at health service. These visits will be
conducted in groups of 3-4 students.

Evaluation method

Distributed throughout the semester/school year, with final evaluation exam/test.
