Objectives
-AM students must receive information in terms of the specialties included in this
curricular unit:
-To diagnose, treat and follow the progression of the more frequent pathological
conditions of these specialties, not requiring the use of specific techniques.
-To recognize conditions that due to the need of diagnostic techniques and/or
more specific therapies, should be timely referred to specialties.
-To diagnose emergency situations and to know how to initiate the more indicated
therapeutic measures.
-To be familiar, even briefly, with rarer conditions.

Teaching method
Teaching will consist of theoretical digital "online" classes and face-to-face practical
classes as well as practical internship training.
All theoretical classes will be delivered "online".
The practical classes will be held from 08:00/08:30 to 13:00 , Monday to Friday, for 15
weeks a semester and 5 weeks each class, accordingly to the following distribution:
Orthopedics - 2 weeks
Rheumatology: 2 weeks
Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine - 1 Week
Strategies:
Initiating and integrating the students into departments daily practice.
Promoting outpatient's follow-up.
Tutored frequency of internal and/or external emergency units (whenever
applicable)
Evaluation method
The student¿s final evaluation (0 to 20) will include:
-Practical Internship (20%) - Continuous evaluation of the student's participation
in the practical sessions
-Written monography (15%) - about a scientific subject previously referred during
the MD curricular unit practical internship. In this text and in an integrated way, the
student must include contents from the 3 specialties of the MD curricular unit.
-Multiple-choice test (65%) -at the end of each semester, using the Quizone
platform or similar technology.
