Locative Media
Objectives
Course unit of introduction to the theoretical-conceptual framework and
applied domain of mobile communication and location-based media.
Starting from a transdisciplinary approach to emerging mobility, the unit is aimed at digital experimentation on mobile interfaces and aims to:
OBJ1: Provide students with knowledge of history and future perspectives on locative media as technological, situated and navigational ways of expressing and understanding space, place and culture;
OBJ2: Train students in the design and production of content dedicated to locative media.

Teaching method
The curricular unit is organized in two components: (1) theoretical-practical, predominantly expository, presenting concepts, theories and techniques, discussing its implications in subgroups and in plenary; the analytical appropriation of concepts, theories and practices is carried out actively, using dynamics of direct participation by students; (2) laboratory, predominantly oriented towards the application of technological knowledge and its fundamentals, favoring the agile creation of low and high fidelity prototypes. Theoretical-practical evaluation - includes two elements of evaluation (individual - frequency (20% of the final classification); in subgroups - research and experimentation exercises (20% of the final classification); Laboratory evaluation - includes two elements of evaluation (individual and in subgroups - creation and prototyping exercises (20% of the final classification); in subgroups - final prototype (40% of the final classification).
Evaluation method
Continuous Assessment - Laboratory evaluation: Creation and prototyping exercises individual and in subgroups (20%); Final prototype in subgroups (40%) (60%), Theoretical-practical evaluation: Individual frequency (20%); Research and experimentation exercises in subgroups (20%)(40%)
