It depends on the subject of each research. Students are specially encouraged and trained to work from the start with accredited bibliographical digital resources of the scientific field.

Teaching method

A master thesis is oriented by members of the courses academic staff, following the principles of tutorial supervision previewed in the regulation of the master course.

Evaluation method

Assessment - The final dissertation will be evaluated during a public viva before a jury, according to the MA course regulations.(100%)

Subject matter

The dissertation is the result of a substantial and profound research, which deepens the work developed in the classroom and must be prepared under the scientific guidance of a professor of the Master Course in association (NOVA FCSH-UNL and NOVA FCT), approved by the Faculty Scientific Council. The student prepares a “research plan”, about 5 pages, where are presented the main goals, the departure problem, the empirical data, the methodologies and theories from the scientific field. The making of the MA thesis follows and develops this plan, under regular guidance of the tutor(s).
