Spanish B1.1
Objectives
To reach the basis of level B1 of the CEFR.
1. To understand main points and extract some specific details in various texts.
2. To write simple but well constructed texts about current themes or topics relating to personal, professional andacademic involvement.
3. To exchange information, opinions and arguments in a simple but coherent way. To express feelings and beliefs,whether to agree or disagree, taking part in parcially spontaneous conversations.
4. To be aware of his/her own errors and the most persistent errors, as well as the differences between the twolanguages.
5. To be knowledgeable about the history, policital situation and linguistic reality of Spain and Latin America.
6. To be able to relate the mother culture with the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries, and to develop a sense of open-mindedness and interest in cultural diversity.
7. To apply what is learned to the fields of Languages, Literature, Culture and Translation.

Teaching method
Inductive and deductive, formal and communicative activities, centred on one or more language activities (expression, comprehension, interaction and mediation), always taking into account the needs of the students, favouring the integration of skills, intercultural reflection, autonomous learning and the use of digital resources.
Continuous assessment system. Two individual written and face-to-face tests; oral presentations and written assignments. The user's communicative competence, formal correctness and appropriateness, use of learning strategies, knowledge of sociocultural aspects of the Hispanic context and capacity for critical cultural reflection will be assessed.

Assessment elements:
-Oral expression and oral interaction in class (15%).
-Written compositions (15%)
-Reading test: commentary on a work (extensive reading) (20%).
-Frequency: test of linguistic, semantic, lexical and cultural content (50%).
Subject matter
1. The expression of information, opinions, feelings and arguments in a simple and coherent way, covering topics such as personal and historical memory, the city, social change, the concept of time and leisure.
2. Reporting information by expressing causes, conditions and purpose.
3. The narration of past experiences. Consolidating the form, use and contrast of the past tense of the indicative (preterite perfect, preterite indefinite, preterite imperfect and preterite plus-perfect).
4. The future, the conditional and the indirect style.
5. Review of Spanish forms of address.
6. Expanding vocabulary related to everyday private and public topics.
7. Contrastive aspects of Spanish and Portuguese.
8. Knowledge, behaviour, cultural references and socio-cultural conventions of the Hispanic world.
9. Development of intercultural knowledge and competences.
10. Current affairs: the relationship between the Hispanic world and the community of origin.
