Monitoring Seminar (Musicology)
Objectives
Under the supervision of a member of the teaching staff or researcher the student should:
a) be able to carry out research on a given theme, with the aim of producing a dissertation;
b) put together a project assignment along with the corresponding theoretical framework;
c) be able to reflect critically on the scientific issues underlying questions that have arisen in the context of a work-placement;
d) gain experience in terms of presenting the results of a piece of research.

Teaching method
This seminar principally covers the autonomous research work undertaken under the supervision of a lecturer/researcher. In the Master's in Musicology, this work is complemented by means of a symposium, composed of two sessions (one at the beginning of the semester,the other towards the end, in which the students have 10 mins. to present the results of their research work. All the students of the 2ndyear of the Master's attend theses sessions, as well as their respective supervisors and also other members of the teaching staff of the Department, with each presentation being discussed.

Continuous assessment - symposium, composed of two sessions (one at the beginning of the semester,the other towards the end, in which the students have 10 mins. to present the results of their research work(100%)
Subject matter
The contents of this seminar are defined by the themes chosen by the students for the production of their respective dissertations, project assignments and work-placements with final report.
