Education objectives
1)Understanding of the specificity of sociological knowledge in relation to other social sciences and common sense knowledge; 2)Knowledge and understanding of the main concepts and theoretical approaches of Sociology; 3)Knowledge and understanding of sociological approaches to different areas of scientific and professional application; 4)Ability to communicate sociological knowledge in an accurate and significant way to specialists and non-specialists; 5)Knowledge and understanding of the principles and applications of the main strategies, methods and techniques of sociological research; 6)Ability to select and apply, under scientific supervision, these concepts and tools to the analysis, problematisation and investigation of social phenomena and problems, taking into account the ethical and deontological implications of the investigation; 7)Ability to communicate the procedures, results and implications of the investigation in an accurate and significant way to specialists and non-specialists; 8)Skills necessary to undertake further training for specialisation purposes, professional qualification or to acquire new skills for basic research under supervision; 9)Scientific skills to perform training or teaching tasks, following the acquisition of additional pedagogic skills.

Degree pre-requisites
Each student must obtain 180 credits: 66 credits obtained from compulsory courses, 84 credits from programme-restricted electives, and 30 credits from unrestricted electives or a Minor from another academic area. In their 1st year, students should not enrol in more than 30 credits per semester, respecting precedence rules when they have been set. At the beginning of each semester, the students will be advised on which courses to take, according to what best suits their academic requirements.

The degree of licenciado corresponds to the level 6 of the NQF and EQF-National Qualifications Framework/European Qualifications Framework.
Conditions of admittance
Students may be admitted to the Licenciatura Degree in Anthropology through the National Call to enrol in Higher Education, the Special Contests and the Special Access Regimes, as well as through Readmission or a Change of Institution/Program. Evaluation rules
Students are assessed based on the work carried out over the course of a semester, based on class participation, on the presentation of oral and written papers, and on tests and exams taken. The results of that assessment are expressed on a scale from 0 to 20. In order to pass, students must have at least 10 marks. Students who fail, however, have a second change to retake the final exam. SPECIAL ASSESSMENT REGIMES: - Student-worker - Students with competitive athlete status - Student mothers and fathers - Association leaders - Military personnel - Other special regimes provisioned by law. Students with special educational needs can benefit from teaching and learning conditions adapted to their needs.
