Global Studies
Objectives
General objectives:
1 - Develop capacities to understand, analyze and investigate issues and problems arising from the Globalization process (es), inserted in a security and securitization logic;
2- Based on case studies, acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge about the concept of Security in a constantly changing world;
3 - Acquire knowledge about the response instruments to be used in an increasingly global world, characterized by the emergence of new risks, threats and inter and infra-state conflicts (diplomacy, development, cooperation, democracy….);
4 - Develop the capacity to perceive and analyze the position of Portugal, from the perspective of various alliances (military, economic, ...) and international cooperation;
5 - Gather information about the current reality and future trends, which allows participation in processes of strategic analysis and support for decision-making, namely in the sphere of public policies

Teaching method
The teaching method will be based on theoretical-practical classes, and the evaluation of the students will combine three factors: attendance and participation, individual written work and oral presentation.
