Economic Criminal Law
Objectives
1.- Mastery of the legislation and problems of criminal enforcement in the economical field.
2.- Comprehension of theoretical and practical problems and application of general concepts (Criminal Law Theory and Criminal Liability) in the economical field (v.g. financial system, tax system, consumers law).
3.- Further development of the capacity to analyse, to build solutions and solve problems within the applicable legal framework.
4.- Further development of the capacity to make a critical and detailed analysis of legal solutions.
5. Development of individual research capacities in topics of the course.

Teaching method
- Lectures: lectures on the course material by the lecturer; students may pose queries and raise problems.
- Tutorial: solution of practical cases specifically conceived to promote discussion of various aspects of the course material.
- Seminar: analysis and consideration of Portuguese case law regarding the topics taught.
- Supervised research. Students' research skills will also be encouraged via a project, the production of written commentaries on judgments of the Portuguese courts regarding the topics taught. This work will be supervised by the lecturer.
Evaluation method
Written examination (mandatory, 3 hours) And Classification of the original (non-mandatory) research paper (50%, 50%, or the classification of the written examination if higher).
