Teaching method
Classes are divided in two parts. First, a lecture introduces the main aspects of the issue under discussion. Second, one or more documents are given to the students (policy papers, judgments, legislation etc). They are asked to read them and answer a series of questions prepared by the lecturer. A discussion of the resulting comments follows.
Evaluation method
A final exam consists of four open questions, two on each substantive part of the course.
Alternatively, students can opt for continuous evaluation: a first multiple choice test + one open ended question after the end of the first part (50% of the grade) and second at the end of the course (remaining 50%). Participation in class is also taken into account to determine the final mark.
