Data Privacy, Security and Ethics

Objectives

The purpose of this course is to give the student an understanding of regulatory issues concerning privacy and data protection. This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between law, ethics, and emerging digital challenges in the modern world. Students will understand the foundational concepts of law, morality, and ethics, and then delve into specific areas such as data ethics, privacy literacy, and cybersecurity. Through practical sessions on ethical dilemmas, the course emphasizes critical thinking and ethical decision-making, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the ethical and legal complexities of the digital age

Teaching method

The curricular unit is based on a mix of theoretical lectures and practical classes. Each session will introduce new concepts and methodologies, as well as the applications of the learned concepts. This course covers privacy and ethical issues surrounding data, and main consideration in dealing with data. The specific learning objectives are:
