Entrepreneurial Journey

Objectives

This course aims to discuss and tackle a range of aspects related to the Entrepreneurial Journey from the personal perspective of the entrepreneur, as well as the entrepreneurial venture angle. Students will be invited to explore and understand the challenges involved in this process. To achieve these aims, the Entrepreneurial Journey has been structured into a series of discussions with experts in four different thematic streams organised around two conceptual axes: person and project, and past/present and future.

Teaching method

This non-traditional course consisting of a series of discussions with field experts in different learning spaces, along with critical thinking and self-reflection on the four learning blocs will provide an up-to-date and engaging educational experience. Students are expected to have a high degree of participation in class taking advantage of the experts involved. 

 

Evaluation method

Assessment 1 (Individual): Learning Log (30%) 

Assessment 2 (Group): Video-Pitch (30%)

Assessment 3 (Individual): Self-Reflective ? The Future Essay (40%) 

 

Subject matter

The course combines several conceptual components:

The management component with a focus on entrepreneurship

A phenomenological component in which students will be asked to reflect and interrogate themselves regarding the entrepreneurial journey.

A high-performance component to explore some facets of the entrepreneurial journey including success and failure. 

The personal lessons learned stream discusses life stories of entrepreneurs, engaging with their experiences as sources of learning.

The key competencies stream will explore personal competencies that have been identified as fundamental to engage in the entrepreneurial journey 

The reinventing myself stream will discuss the entrepreneurial journey as transformational path

The interrogating the future stream will bring guests that work on areas that will impact our common future
