Education objectives

The 3rd Cycle of Studies of the Doctoral Program in Biomedicine leading to the degree of Doctor of Biomedicine aims to equip students with the conceptual and methodological tools necessary to apply to the field of biomedicine. The main objective is to provide students with multidisciplinary training that places them at the forefront of biomedical research. This training will enable students to gain a broad understanding of the field, empowering them to transfer scientific knowledge and skills to academia, industry, research laboratories, or clinical analysis labs. The goal is to prepare students for future professional environments.

The programme places strong emphasis on collaborative research projects. Its curriculum is structured around a set of core courses and advanced complementary courses delivered by both partner institutions, offering students the opportunity to experience the scientific environments of both universities.

Degree pre-requisites

The duration of the doctoral programme is 4 years, including 42 ECTS of coursework and 198 ECTS corresponding to the thesis.

Conditions of admittance

1 - Students can apply for access to the cycle of studies leading to the degree of doctor: a) Holders of the master's degree in Medicine or in a field of Health Sciences; b) Exceptions to this rule, such as pre-Bologna graduates or holders of a significant academic, scientific or professional curriculum will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Program Coordination. Holders of a Master's degree or legal equivalent in Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related fields are eligible to apply.
