Objectives

1. To acquire theoretical and methodological principles to develop terminological work;
2. To understand the functioning of specialized language (Languages for Specific Purposes LSP);
3. To be able to identify terms, collocations and phraseologies;
4. To apply methods to organize textual data;
5. To acquire techniques to search terminological information;
6. To develop and manage terminological resources.

Teaching method

In this course, the theoretical and methodological foundations for terminological work will be presented. Classes will include practical activities, both in groups and individually. Additionally, programs for automatic corpus processing and a dictionary editor will be used. The goal is for students to learn how to organize corpora, extract terminological data, and store it in the dictionary editor.

Evaluation method

Continuous assessment - Administration of a written test covering the theoretical and methodological aspects of the course (60%), Completion of an individual and/or group assignment (40%)
