History of Medieval Lisbon

Objectives

a) To acquire a solid knowledge of the state of the art in Medieval Lisbon History studies.
b) To recognise Lisbon's status as the ‘head of the kingdom’.
c) To identify and familiarise themselves with documentary sources for the study of Medieval Lisbon History.
d) To master the issues addressed by various lines of research on Medieval Lisbon.
e) To Carry out a research project on the subject of the seminar, based on printed documentation.

Continuous assessment - Individual written work based on printed sources on a theme around Lisbon in the Middle Ages(75%), Study visit report (10%), Written commentary on a document from the Lisbon Municipal Archive preserved in the Livro dos Pregos (15%)
