Objectives

1. Ability to identify, access, analyze and integrate information from various sources, documents and texts to deal with relevant and complex historical problems of the idle Ages;
2. Knowledge of resources (including those based on ICT), available for research in one’s specific field of history of the Middle Ages and related fields
3. Ability to find, retrieve, contextualize and interpret substantial quantities of medieval historical documents
4. Capacity for understanding the importance of applying and practicing the principles of collaborative research to medieval history and the social and human sciences.

Evaluation method

Continuous assessment - Continuous assessment and evaluation of student´s performance, including their attendance and participation in the activities; a written individual work resulting from the activity of the student in the course, that Includes a detailed research report of the activities performed and their results.(100%)

Subject matter

a) Advanced Training seminars and discussion of problems and research results, problems and research methods, and / or theoretical insights in the areas investigated in the research unit suitable for medieval history and organized as:
i. Academic seminars.
ii. Cycles of conferences.
b) Development of practical activities by the student integrated in a project in Medieval History already in progress which has been subject to external review. This will be done in a tutorial system supervised either by the Researcher responsible for the project or by another researcher from the Research Unit and team member of the above said project which the Responsible Researcher will nominate as supervisor for the work of the student.
