Global History of Mankind
Objectives
The main goal of this discipline is to demonstrate how present the deep roots of present-day society. How each daily life practice has a deep ancestry despite its Modern look like.
We suggest analysing the evolution of Political entities and institutions, geo-strategy and economy, culture and science, religious thought, and conceptions for the future. We look for giving the student a capacity to get glimpse of History in an exceptionally long term and in a planetary perspective. Therefore, we wish to demonstrate how humanity, being a single kind, is composed by individuals with a single origin, who colonised Earth, having created different civilisations, with proper (and sometimes opposite) social dynamics. Finally, we can perceive that present day globalisation faces so many resistances due to History itself.

Teaching method
Theoretical lessons are based in lectures conducted by the teachers. Practical lessons are based on the discussion of topics by students, under the guidance of the teachers, using the presentation, analysis and commentary of documental sources, critical bibliography, audiovisual products, maps and other iconographic materials.
Evaluation method
Continuous assessment - Realization of one written test (50%). Writting of a memo with 20.000 caracters about one of the syllabus' topics(100%)
