Education objectives
The objectives of this program are to provide students with advanced training at the highest level in the field of Biotechnology, emphasizing the multidisciplinary nature of this area of knowledge, as well as promoting an entrepreneurial attitude in students regarding the valorization of the knowledge they generate.
Students are welcomed into a highly qualified scientific environment, in internationally recognized research units: UCIBIO (Research Unit on Applied Biomolecular Sciences) – i4hB (Institute for Health & Bioeconomy) and REQUIMTE – Sustainable Chemistry, a center of excellence in Green Chemistry - Clean Technologies and Processes.

Conditions of admittance
Candidates must meet at least one of the following conditions:
Hold a Master''s degree, or its legal equivalent, in the scientific area of the program or a related field. The candidate must have a minimum final grade of 14 points in these studies;
Hold a Bachelor''s degree in the scientific area of the program or a related field and possess a school or scientific curriculum that is particularly relevant, recognized by the Departmental Councils of the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Life Sciences, and by the Scientific Council, as attesting the ability to undertake the program;
Hold a school, scientific, or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Departmental Councils of the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Life Sciences, and the Scientific Council as attesting the ability to undertake the program.
