Knowledge is the foundation of social and human development, and as such, the ability to circulate information across generations is crucial, promoting knowledge and skills while also reinforcing values and attitudes of critical awareness and active citizenship.
Education is therefore strategic and at the forefront of the development of advanced, fair, and prosperous societies. In this context, it is necessary and urgent to update and strengthen the capacity of our educators in order to better envisage the school and education in a global and multidisciplinary manner, capable of facing the ever-increasing contemporary challenges and promoting a positive and lasting impact on society.
The Master''s in Education aims to promote an academic training that enables the personal and professional development of teachers and other professionals in the field of education, within a lifelong learning framework, providing the enrichment of professional practices and the improvement of the organisations in which they work.

Conditions of admittance
- Holders of a degree that qualifies them to practise as an educator or teacher at various levels of education;
- Holders of other academic degrees with experience in professional activities in the field of education;
- Education officers;
- Sociocultural animators and mediators.

Evaluation rules
The evaluation of all UC is continuous for all the components that integrate it, and it must be completed by the last day of the school term of the academic semester.
The continuous evaluation of a UC must include a minimum of three elements in the set of evaluation components, on dates adequately spaced throughout the period of classes.
All UCs with a theoretical-practical evaluation component must provide, in addition, a form of evaluation of this component by exam, to be carried out after the period of classes (Examination of Appeal).
All requirements and conditions related to the evaluation of the UC, namely the minimum weights and classifications, if any, of each component, as well as the Frequency conditions, are defined a priori and, mandatorily, published in the Discipline Form.
For each UC, combinations of three evaluation components are allowed: (i) Theoretical-practical evaluation; (ii) Laboratory or project evaluation; (iii) Summative assessment.
The final Dissertation (or Project) involves a public discussion with a Jury.
