Conditions of admittance

The following candidates may apply for admission to the PhD program in Biology:

Holders of a master’s degree, or legally equivalent qualification, awarded by Portuguese or foreign higher education institutions officially recognized;
Holders of a bachelor’s degree with an especially relevant academic or scientific curriculum, recognized by the Scientific Council as demonstrating the ability to undertake this study cycle;
Individuals with an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Council of NOVA FCT as demonstrating the ability to pursue this study cycle.
Selection criteria
Candidates who meet the previously stated academic and curricular requirements will be selected and ranked based on the following criteria:

a) Academic and scientific curriculum;
b) Professional curriculum;
c) Motivation letter.

The application process may include an individual interview to clarify the candidate’s intentions, interests, and motivations.

The selection of candidates is the responsibility of the Doctoral Scientific Committee, through the evaluation of the submitted documentation.
