Bachelor's in Economics
Education objectives
1. The undergraduate program
in Economics is based on a selection of
core courses that contribute to solid training in Economics, Management, and
Quantitative Methods.
2. Students also receive a
general education in other related areas such as Social Sciences and
Programming.
3. Key
soft skills like communication, leadership, self-awareness, creativity,
adaptability, resilience, collaboration, and global mindset.
4. A mix of technical and
scientific skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, data handling, and
programming.
5. Students
are exposed to new contexts and experiences through the new “Careers with
Impact” course, being challenged to play an active role toward a more
equitable, sustainable, and inclusive world.
6. They will broaden their horizons, having the opportunity to apply their previous knowledge while developing important soft skills.

Degree pre-requisites
The Undergraduate Degrees in Economics and Management are structured in semesters and trimesters. Each course corresponds
to a number of ECTS (European Credit
Transfer System). When the course is successfully approved, the student is assigned the corresponding number of ECTS.
To graduate in Economics, students
should enroll in at least six semesters and respect the following rules:
a) to acquire a minimum
of 180 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits and a maximum of 195 ECTS maximum;
b) to be approved and/or being waived in all mandatory courses;
c) to satisfy the Internationalization Requirement;
d) to complete a
minimum of 45.5 ECTS from elective courses, including 28 ECTS from the area of Economics.

Conditions of admittance
National Call
To apply through the National Call, students must hold a
High School degree (or legally equivalent) AND have a Portuguese Mathematics A
Exam (or an equivalent), with a minimum grade of 9,5. The Mathematics A Exam is
valid for two years (for those who took the exam before 2022) or 4 years (for
those who took the exam from 2022 onward).
From 2025/26 onward, in addition to the Mathematics A exam, candidates will to present one of the following combinations:
· Matemática A + Portuguese
· Matemática A + Physics and Chemistry
· Matemática A + Economics
· Matemática A + Geography
· Matemática A + English
· Matemática A+ Philosopy

Evaluation rules
