a) Understand fundamental concepts in the use of technology to learn English inside and outside the foreign language classroom;
b) Reflect on their use of technology as digitally literate students in learning English;
c) Understand the application of general ELT methodology in the use of technology;
d) Develop methodological technological competencies in technology use;
e) Understand the changes in how technology has, is and will be used in the teaching and learning of English;
f) Develop virtual classroom methodologies in ELT.
g) Reflect on strategies to bridge e-learning distances in ELT.

Seminar 2 takes students through new technologies and methods in language learning which are available and in use in the world today. It begins by exploring the use of technology in language learning referring to student´s own experience. The evolution of technology in language teaching. (Other topics that will be discussed are: Computer Assisted Language Learning, Use of the Internet, Mobile Phones and corpora in language learning). Students are then introduced to teaching through the online context, where they will explore, understand and reflect on role of the virtual classroom in language learning and teaching today.
Students will learn how to use the available resources on moodle as well as to explore creative ways of teaching and encouraging language practice online.
They will also focus on different ways to bridge the distances and encourage bonding and creativity in a virtual classroom environment.
