Objetivos

The curricular unit of cybersecurity aims to introduce an overview of the concepts of vulnerabilities, threats, attacks, security measures and mechanisms in computer systems, networks, and cloud environments.

Topics covered include security frameworks, authentication and access control, biometrics, applied cryptography, digital signatures, threat defence technologies, data protection methodologies, data protection technologies, incident response, disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning and blockchain technology.

Método de ensino

The course is based mainly on theoretical lectures and some practical lectures and tutorials. The theoretical sessions include the presentation of theoretical concepts and methodologies as well as application examples. The main objective of the practical classes is to familiarize students with some tools used in cybersecurity.
