Ciências Cartográficas e Aquisição de Dados
Objetivos
At the end of this curricular unit students should understand the basic concepts of geodesy and cartography. Students are expected to know the fundamental techniques of data aquisition used in topography, photogrametry, global position system, laser scanning. Students will demonstrate that they know how to make a coordinate transformation. Students are expected to know the fundamental concepts associated to geographical information quality and standards.

The curricular unit is based on theoretical and pratical synchronous sessions (e-learning). The theoretical and pratical sessions include presentation of concepts and resolution of exercises.
The learning is done through exercises, some of them compulsory. There is a final project oriented by the professor, which topic is select by the student according to their individual/professional experiences.

REGULAR PERIOD (1st call):
1.Progression Tests (10%)
2.Final Exam (30%)
3.Final project (50%)
4.Oral presentation of the project (10%).
RESIT PERIOD (2nd call): not applicable.
RULES:
- All the evaluation elements are mandatory for approval.
- The exam is solved on the e-learning platform on the day and time indicated in the study program’s calendar.
- The report must be prepared individually, in Portuguese or English, as indicated on the e-learning platform.
- Reports submitted after the deadline will have a penalty of 0.5 points for each day of delay. The maximum delay allowed is 7 days.
- Reports not submitted on the e-learning platform will be rejected.
