Students will be given a topic and resource to instigate the collective conversation. Prior to the first meeting for each topic, participants will submit a word of their choosing and an accompanying image, video, song, article, book or poem that they feel personally connects them to the that discussion topic. Students are expected to have read or watched the resource for each week. These contributions should be shared to the specified location on ONE DRIVE to each week’s class as part of their evaluation. We will call this contribution AFFECT. Students will each then have 2-3 minutes to tell the class about their word, their personal resource, and why they matter to them. These words will be written and a chalk monolith in class.

Bi-weekly, except for week #1 and weird weeks, you will be given a topic and resource to instigate our collective conversation. Prior to the first meeting for each topic, participants will submit a word of their choosing and an accompanying image, video, song, article, book or poem that they feel personally connects them to the that discussion topic. You will be expected to have read or watched the resource for each week. Your contributions should be shared to the specified location on ONE DRIVE in the Seminar 1 AU24 file PRIOR to each week’s class as part of your evaluation. We will call this contribution AFFECT. You will each then have 2-3 minutes to tell the class about your word, your personal resource, and why they matter to you. These words will be written and a chalk monolith in class.
Our second meet will involve an attempt to map a sort of idea ecology through a group discussion of the words of our chalk monolith. You will then, outside of class, write a short reflection on your experience with the topic. We will call this contribution EFFECT.
Finally, each participant in the seminar will write a report describing your own personal development throughout the semester. This is a final report on your central investigation, which is YOU!
